MR. CADDEN RITES TUESDAY

Raymond Cadden, 58, of Rte. 3, Brooklyn, died of a heart ailment Saturday, Aug. 1, at Grinnell General Hospital.

The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, with the Rev. Anthony Farrell officiating. The Scripture Service was scheduled for 8 p.m. Monday at the Smith Funeral Home.

Burial will be in Hazelwood Cemetery, with the Francis-Gallagher American Legion Post in charge of graveside rites.

The son of Patrick and Elldora Dowell Cadden, he was born on March 29, 1929, at Brooklyn. He attended rural school and graudated from Brooklyn High School in 1948. He served with the U.S. Army from 1951 to 1953.

On Aug. 23, 1958, he was married to Margaret Fuerst in Grinnell, and the couple farmed in Madison Township near Brooklyn.

He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of Grinnell, the Francis-Gallagher American Legion Post of Brooklyn and the Farm Bureau.

He is survived by his wife, Margaret; two sons, Kenneth and George, both of Brooklyn; two daughters, Mary Oliver of Weatherby, Mo., and Karen Timm of Victor; his mother Dora Cadden of Grinnell; three sisters, Margaret Sandberg of Long Beach, Calif., Dorothy Dodson of Anaheim, Calif., and Colleen McDonald of Cedar Rapids; and one brother, Donald of Grinnell. He was preceded in death by his father.
