OBITUARY.

Luella Andrews was born October 11, 1862, in Illinois City, Rock Island County, Ill. Later she with her parents moved to Dallas County,Ia., where she resided until December 28, 1880, when she was married to Frank W. Lewis at Adel, Dallas County, Ia. They have lived near Grinnell all of their married life except three years spent in Nebraska.

She departed this life and went home July 18, 1905, at the Harrison Lewis home in Grinnell where she was brought one week before for treatment.

Her death was caused by paralysis of the throat and other complications. She was not considered dangerously ill until Saturday night and Monday night at 11 o'clock she took a sudden turn for the worse. When she knew she could only last a short time she bade the friends around her good bye and left a good bye for the rest and said she was ready to go and at 1:10 her spirit took its flight. Eight children, five boys and three girls were born to this union all with whom with the father survive thus leaving to mourn her loss husband, children, aged mother, four brothers and two sisters and a host of other relatives and friends.

She was a loving indulgent mother, a good helpmate, a kind sympathetic friend and neighbor, always cheerful and happy, to know her was to love her. She united with the Methodist Episcopal church at Mt. Pleasant 1-1/2 miles west of her home near Newburg July 19, 1903. Her mother, two sisters, one brother and a niece from Dallas county, were present at the funeral. The services were conducted by the Rev. Mr. McCraw of Kellogg at the M.E. church in Grinnell after which she was laid to rest in Hazelwood.
