OBITUARY.

MRS. F.G. LEWIS

Cynthia F. Matteson was born May 2, 1845, in Goshen, Vermont, where she lived four years. From there she moved with her parents to Lester, Vermont, where she lived three years, from there to Brandon, Vt., where she lived five years. From there she moved to Ripton, Vt., Addison county, where she lived until March 11, 1868, when she was married to F.G. Lewis. To this union were born two sons, Wendell C., born February 19, 1876, and Benjamin F. born September 8, 1877. In 1870 they moved to Geneva Bluffs, Iowa, living on a farm until 1886. They moved to Marengo, Iowa, where they lived ten years. In 1896 they moved to Grinnell, where they have since lived. She died at her home, 1011 West street, April 8, 1915.

She was an earnest and devoted Christian and a member of the Congregational church for 55 years. She leaves to mourn her loss a loving husband, two sons and two brothers, together with a host of other relatives and friends. Her husband, Frank G. Lewis, and eldest son, Wendell C., live at Grinnell. The younger son, Benjamin F., lives at Enid, Oklahoma. Her brothers are Elias H. Matteson who lives at Ladora, Iowa, and Ford Matteson, who lives in Ripton, Vt. There are also two grandchildren, Chester and Esther Lewis, son and daughter of Benjamin F. Lewis, of Enid, Oklahoma.
