MRS. ETTA ALDEN, FORMER RESIDENT, DIES AT ONAWA

Mrs. Etta F. Alden, 88, of Onawa, formerly of Grinnell, died Friday at Onawa. She had been in failing health for several months.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m Tuesday from the Smith Funeral Home with the Rev. Chester Custer, pastor of the Methodist church, officiating. Vocal music will be furnished by Mr. and Mrs. Virgil Palmer, accompanied by Mrs. Kathleen Heffner at the organ.

Pallbearers will be Donald Fuder, Kenneth Palmer, Harold Palmer, Adelbert Sears, Howard Sears, and Richard Sears. Burial will be in Chester cemetery.

She was the daughter of Phillip and Fredericka Heider and was born Oct. 24th, 1875, at Minneapolis, Minn. On June 8th, 1904, she was united in marriage with George D. Alden and to this union were born two children, Lyle Alden of Onawa and Miss Priscilla Alden of Providence, R.I.

Mrs. Alden had lived in Onawa the last three years to be near her son. She had resided in Grinnell for 35 years before that.

She was a member of the Methodist church.

Survivors include her two children and a sister, Mrs. Daisey M. Fuder of Fergus Falls, Minn.
