RITES HELD FOR MRS. BRECKENRIDGE

Funeral services were conducted at Collegiate Presbyterian church, Ames, Saturday morning for Mrs. Mildred E. Breckenridge, 69, former Brooklyn resident.

Mrs. Breckenridge, sister of Maynard McLain, Brooklyn, died Wednesday evening at an Ames hospital. She had been ill several months.

Rev. John Davies had charge of the services and burial was in the I.O.O.F. cemetery at Brooklyn Saturday afternoon.

A graduate of Grinnell college, Mrs. Breckenridge taught in the Hartley high school before her marriage in 1921 to Robert William Breckenridge of Brooklyn. They moved to Ames in 1929.

She was an active member of the Collegiate Presbyterian church, serving as circle chairman, deaconess and Sunday School teacher. She was also a member of PEO, DAR, Faculty Women's club and the Ames Garden club.

Survivors include one son, Dr. Bruce M. Breckenridge of Princeton, N.J.; three daughters, Mrs. D.B. Turkington of Norman, Okla., Mrs. C.A. Blackburn of Baltimore, Md.; Mrs. C.E. Gates of College Station, Texas; two brothers, Marvin L. McLain of Alexandria, Va. and Mr. McLain of Brooklyn; one sister, Mrs. Wilbur M. Molison of Grinnell.

She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, Minnie L. Brenniman and William James McLain and one sister, Mrs. Margery Jackson.
