ISLAND M. SCHULTZ, 18

Island M. Schultz, 18, of rural Gibson died Wednesday, June 11, 1997, at her home.

Funeral services were held Sunday, June 15, 1997, at the Montezuma Community High School Gymnasium in Montezuma. Mr. Marvin Freeborn of Barnes City officiated the service. Music was provided by soloist Mr. Darrell Brand and pianist Mr. Tom Sandholm. Songs provided were "Where Angels Live" and "Wind Beneath My Wings." Casket bearers were Wayne Cheney, Tom Sheets, Greg Steele, Rex Cheney, Matt Facile and Joe Steele. Burial was in the Barnes City Cemetery in Barnes City.

Island Marie Schultz was born May 16, 1979 at Carmichael, Calif., the daughter of Shelly Kramer. Her mother died in 1985. She attended Montezuma Community High School, graduating May 25, 1997. She did a lot of babysitting while growing up and was especially fond of her cousins A.J., Emily, Morgan, Ben and Cole. She worked at the Break Pointe Convenience Store in Montezuma.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Shelly, in October 1985 and her aunt, Robin Tyler, in April 1983.

Island is survived by her grandparents, whom were her guardians, Sonja and Cliff Schultz of rural Gibson; aunts and uncles, Bambi and Shane Molyneux of What Cheer; Jamie and Wade Maxwell of Gibson; and Jim and Stacy Schultz of Gibson; cousins, A.J., Emily, Morgan, Ben and Cole; a grandfather, Ronald Tyler of Tucson, Ariz.; great-grandparents, Maxine Jack of Reno, Nevada; Lawrence and Doris Tyler of Georgetown, Texas; and Margaret Schultz of Gibson; a great-great-grandmother, Bertha Sanders of Montezuma; and many other relatives and friends.

Other important people in Island's life were her boyfriend, Trent Klein and his parents, Darrell and Nancy Klein and Trent's brother, James, all of Brooklyn.

Memorials may be made to the Island Schultz Memorial at the Montezuma State Bank, P.O. Box 128, Montezuma, Iowa 50171.
