ADAM MIZNER

Adam Mizner, son of John and Katherine Burk Mizner, was born June 14, 1897 at Brookfield, Mo. Following a few weeks of illness and suffering, he passed away at a Grinnell hospital on April 17, 1958, past 60 years of age.

On September 22, 1930, he was united in marriage with Margaret Hadley at Quincy, Ill. In 1940, Mr. and Mrs. Adam Mizner moved to Grinnell, Iowa, where they have made their home ever since.

He was employed at the Grinnell Shoe factory where he served as foreman for many years. For the past two yeras he had served as manager of the Bowladrome.

He served his country during World War I, was a member of the American Legion, the Eagles, the Elks, and was also a member of the Masonic Lodge at Aurora, Mo., and of the Order of Easrern Star in Grinnell. He was 32-degree Mason and a member of the Scottish Rite in Des Mones. He enjoyed his friendships, took much interest in nature and the cultivation of roses, and served his neighbors as he recongnized their needs.

He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Margaet Mizner of the home, 1031 Spring Street, and one sister, Mrs. Katherine Stanard, Kansas City, Mo., several nieces and nephews, and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister.
