MARGARET SHUEY

Margaret E. Shuey, 81, of 1031 Spring St., Grinnell, died Tuesday, Aug. 20, at St. Francis Manor in Grinnell.

Funeral services were conducted Thursday at the Smith Funeral Home, with the Rev. David Bowman, pastor of the United Church of Christ-Congregational, officiating. Organist was Margaret Wheeler.

Pallbearers were Dale Adkins, Earl Blair, Lyman Case, Bob Dale, Allen Latcham and R.J. Nash. Honorary bearers were Sharp Lannom, Floyd Postma, Max Smith and John Wemer.

Fraternal rites were conducted by members of Beulah Chapter No. 47, Order of Eastern Star. Burial was in Hazelwood Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or to ESTRAL of Eastern Star.

The daughter of Sidney and Viola Wagoner Hadley, she was born June 18, 1910, in Eureka Springs, Ark. The family moved to Aurora, Mo., where she attended school.

She was married to Adam Mizner, Sept. 22, 1930, in Quincy, Ill. The couple moved to Grinnell in 1940 where she worked for Grinnell Shoe Co. Mr. Mizner died in 1958.

She continued to live in Grinnell and worked for Brenton National Bank. She was married to Willis D. Shuey Sept. 14. 1971, in Grinnell.

Mrs. Shuey was a member of the United Church of Christ-Congregational, Beulah Chapter No. 47 of Eastern Star, the American Legion Auxiliary and the V.F.W. Auxiliary.

Surviving are two stepsons, James of Yardley, Pa., and Charles of Altadena, Calif.; two stepdaughters, Janet of Portland, Ore., and Lucinda Cake of San Francisco, Calif.; and one sister, Wahnita Hadley of Grinnell.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her two husbands; one sister, Grace Ash; and three brothers, A.R., Luther and Fred Hadley.
