J.E. BAYER DIES ON JANUARY 19 IN NEWBERG, ORE.

Word was received at noon today by J.P. Skinner of the death of J.E. Bayer, long time and loyal Grinnellian, on Jan. 19, at the home of his daughter, Mrs. H.H. George, in Newberg, Oregon. No particulars were received. The body has been cremated and the ashes will be brought back to Grinnell for burial. "Ellie" Bayer was another of the old timers. In his active life he was a traveling man and wherever he went he kept in touch with members of the scattered Grinnell family. It is fitting that his ashes should find their final resting place in the town he loved.
