ETHEL HOLCOMB RITES PENDING

Mrs. Ethel Holcomb, widow of Crayton W. Holcomb, died suddenly at her home at 1019 West St. early Thursday morning.

The daughter of Nathaniel and Jennie Dickerson Cooper, she was born in Grinnell. On June 15, 1909, she was married to Crayton W. Holcomb at Carrington, N.D. The couple farmed at Carrington until 1928, when the family moved to Arkansas for a short time.

In 1930, she and her husband came to Iowa and farmed near Montezuma and Malcom before moving to a farm near Lime Springs, Iowa, in 1930. Since 1946 she had made her home in Grinnell.

Mrs. Holcomb was a member of the First Baptist Church.

She is survived by her three sons, C. Ben Holcomb of Cedar Falls, Donald C. Holcomb of Des Moines, and Dr. Keith W. Holcomb of Ft. Collins, Colo.; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. Morey (Nell) Pilgrim of Grinnell. She was preceded in death by her husband Crayton on March 17, 1972, as well as her brothers and sisters.

Funeral arrangements for Mrs. Holcomb are incomplete at this time, but friends may call the Smith Funeral Home.
