MRS. N.A. COOPER IS BURIED SUNDAY

Jennie Lucresia Cooper was born in Hill, New Hampshire, Dec. 2, 1850, and died at the home of her daughter in Kellogg, Ia. She came with her parents to Grinnell in the year 1870. She was married to Nathaniel A. Cooper Oct. 31, 1871 and to this union were born nine children, six of whom are living: C.N. Cooper, Mrs. Steve Smith and Mrs. Morey Pilgrim of Grinnell, Mrs. Crayton Holcomb of near Malcom, Mrs. Tom Vinall of Kellogg and Mrs. Walter Root of Erie, Michigan. She also leaves to mourn the loss one brother, A.C. Dickerson of Grinnell and two sisters Mrs. F.A. Cousins of Billings, Mont. and Mrs. A.F. Barnes of Carrington, N.Dak., also grandchildren and great grandchildren. She has been connected with the Baptist churh for many years and remained a faithful member till the day of her death. Mr. Cooper and three children, May, Fred, and Mrs. T.E. Riley of South Bend, Ind., preceded her in death.

The heritage she has left in patience and Christian spirit, through years of service for others, as well as to her family is the greatest legacy she could have left her loved ones.

Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the A.C. Dickerson home, conducted by Rev. William Welsh. Two of Mrs. Cooper's favorite songs, "The Old Rugged Cross" and "Going Down the Valley" were sung by Mrs. Howard Hyde and Mrs. Ed Bohstedt, with Mrs. George Brown at the piano. Rev. Mr. Welsh gave a talk full of comfort to the sorrowing company. Pall bearers were Frank Marvin, Chal Chacey, George Barnes, Clint Butler, John Spooner of Barnes City and Will Steenhoek. Burial was in Hazelwood cemetery.

The two sisters were unable to be present at the funeral but Mrs. Barnes had been with Mrs. Cooper for two months of her long illness. All the children with the exception of Mrs. Root were present.

Mrs. Cooper suffered a great deal during her last illness, but endured it all with Christian fortitude, never complaining and always appreciative of the efforts of those about her to alleviate her pain.
