OBITUARY.

----------------

NATHANIEL A. COOPER

Nathaniel A. Cooper was born September 14, 1848, at St. Louis, Mo., and died October 13, 1913.

He was married to Jennie L. Dickerson on October 31, 1871, at Monroe, Iowa, and to this union nine children were born. Two preceded him, a daughter, May, and a son, Fred.

Those who survive are his wife and seven children: Mrs. T.E. Riley, C.N. Cooper and Viola Cooper, all of Grand Forks, N.D., Mrs. C.W. Holcomb, of Carrington, N.D., and Mrs. Steve Smith, Bernice and Nellie Cooper of this city, two brothers, Frank Cooper of East St. Louis, Ill., and Harvey Cooper, of San Antonio, Texas, and two sisters, Mrs. C.E. White, of East St. Louis, Ill., and Mrs. H. Havener, of Moline, Ill.

Mr. Cooper was a member of the Baptist church of this city and one of the older Odd Fellows, having held all the highest offices.

Mr. Cooper's health has been failing for the past few years. Sunday he had been feeling better than usual, but at 5 o'clock suffered a slight stroke of apoplexy from which he rallied immediately.

However, at one o'clock Monday morning he was again stricken, death coming instantly but without pain.

He was a kind husband and a loving father. All of his spare time was sepnt in his home where he will be missed inexpressibly.

His was a calm, unassuming life and he suffered in silence.

Those who knew him best loved him for his kind and gentle disposition.

His life work is done but his memory will live on in the hearts of his loved ones.

The funeral services were held from the family residence at 2:30 Thursday afternoon, conducted by his pastor, Rev. G.P. Mitchell, and the Odd Fellows.

All of his children except Mrs. T.E. Riley and C.N. Cooper were at the funeral.
