HARRY TISH
SWEA CITY – Service for Harry F. Tish, 91, of Swea City, will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at First Baptist Church at Swea City with burial in Harrison Township Cemetery in rural Swea City.
Mr. Tish died Saturday morning at the Heritage Home at Bancroft. Visitation will be after 3 p.m. today at Henry and Olson Funeral Home at Swea City and one hour prior to service at the church.
Harry Tish was born Sept. 28, 1891 at Searsboro, Iowa. He received his education in country schools near Montezuma, Iowa. He married Delima Thompson Jan. 7, 1914 at Ewart, Iowa. He farmed in Poweshiek County, Iowa for three years before moving to the Swea City area, where he farmed and lived for 65 years. He was a member of the First Baptist Church, the Harrison Township Board, and the election board.
Survivors include his wife; sons, Lawrence of Blue Earth and Marion of Welcome; daughters, Mrs. Floyd (Dorothy) Stewart and Mrs. Kenneth (Frances) Mullarkey, both of Moline, Ill., Mrs. Mary Larson and Mrs. Henry (Lucille) Dontje of Swea City; 25 grandchildren; 37 great-granchildren; and sisters, Mrs. Nellie Thompson of Portland, Ore. and Mrs. Mabel Wolfe of Oskaloosa, Iowa.
