Newspaper dated Oct. 1900

Perena Ann McGriff was born in Dark county, Ohio, March 10, 1846. She was united in marriage to Wm Breece, January, 1869. This union was dissolved by the death of Mr. Breece, which occurred April 17, 1872. Two years later she married James Myers, who died Feb. 18, 1888. She became a christian when 17 years of age, uniting with the Christian church. Having been "faitful unto death," she entered the "valley of the shadow" trusting in her Savior and leaning confidently on His promises, strong in the hope of a glorious resurrection, assured that a "crown of life" awaited her in the "home land," whither she was bound. Oct. 7, 1900, at her home in Grinnell, she received her father's summons: it is enough; come home. She had lived 54 years, 6 months and 27 days. Her aged mother, one son, one daughter, four brothers and three sisters survive her. Funeral services were held in the Christian church at Montezuma last Tuesday afternoon.
