NINA A. EDELEN

Nina A. Edelen, 84, of Estherville, formerly of Brooklyn, died Tuesday, May 22, at Rosewood Nursing Home in Estherville.

Services were conducted Thursday at the First Presbyterian Church in Estherville. Graveside services will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Brooklyn Cemetery.

She was the daughter of James and Mary Crawford Montgomery. She attended high school in Brooklyn and also attended Iowa State Teachers College and the State Teachers College in Greeley, Colo., and taught school in Brooklyn.

She was married to Rollin C. Edelen July 22, 1930, in Brooklyn. The couple lived in Victor, Cedar Rapids and Independence before moving to Estherville in 1935.

Mrs. Edelen was assistant office manager for Estherville Concrete Products from 1951 to 1969, and she served as postmistress for the Iowa Legislature from 1971 to 1974. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and the P.E.O.

Surviving are her husband; one brother, Edwin Montgomery of Brooklyn; and one sister, Eva Reynolds of Fort Collins, Colo. She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers and three sisters.

The family requests that memorials be directed to the American Cancer Society.
