Newspaper obituary dated Nov. 18, 1924

MRS. WILL J. EISELE LIVED USEFUL LIFE

Minnie, only daughter of John and Mary Jantzen, was born in Watertown, Wis., February 27, 1867, and moved with her parents to Iowa in 1884. She was married to William J. Eisele at Malcom, Iowa, on September 25, 1888 and there resided till 1898. At that time she with her husband and three children, Walter J., Fred Harmon and Edna Marie, went to make their home on the farm southeast of Earlham and here they lived for nineteen years. In that home the two sons and daughter grew to manhood and womanhood amidst the gentle care and guidance of their devoted mother whose unselfish love never failed and there the husband and wife shared joys and griefs till 1918.

In that year Mr. and Mrs. Eisele gave up the cares of the farm and moved to the town of Earlham where they have since lived, making new friends and renewing old friendships. Mrs. Eisele's health failed about a year and a half ago and since that time she has borne much. Always uncomplaining, she did not reveal her feelings till sickness had taken a firm hold on her vitality. Failing, and after repeated efforts to regain her strength she journeyed to Kansas City on September 7th hoping there to find relief.

However human aid could not bring back her lost health and all that the loving hands of husband and family could do did not avail. After months of untold suffering, during which she was brave and murmured not, she gave up the battle and quietly passed to rest and peace on November 2nd, 1924. The following day all that remained of Mother Eisele returned to her home--to the home which was her realm and to which all who entered were made welcome to her unlimited hospitality.
