CHRIS INGERMAN

Chris Ingerman was born in Holstein, a province of Germany, Aug. 22, 1861. When 15 years old he determined upon a life in America and came to the United States taking up residence in Michigan. After two years, 1878 he came to Iowa stopping in Davenport for a time. A little later he came to Poweshiek County which continued to be his home until he reached the end of life's journey which came Sunday morning Feb. 20, 1921 about 9 o'clock.

Mr. Ingerman was united in marriage with Miss Marie Schultz at Malcom, Iowa, Feb. 18, 1902 and leaves his sorrowing wife and one daughter Miss Ethel Ingerman to mourn his untimely departure.

Mr. Ingerman was for a long time connected with the commercial interests of Grinnell and won the confidence and good will of all his associates. An upright and industrious life was rewarded by the respect of his fellow citizens. His name is enshrined in the affections of many friends.

Mr. Ingerson had his membership tansferred to the Methodist Episcopal church of Grinnell, March 1914 and has always been held in good fellowship and will be a precious memory to all his brethren.
