HENRY AHRENS

Word has reached Grinnell relatives and friends of the death last Monday in a hospital at Los Angeles of Henry Ahrens, formerly a resident of this community but who for some years has made his home in Needles, California, aged about 65 years. He had been sick for a long time. The body will be brought to Grinnell for burial, the start being made tomorrow from Needles.

Mr. Ahrens was born in Illinois, but during his boyhood days the family moved to Poweshiek county and settled on what is now the Charles Appleby farm, twelve miles east of town. Mrs. Charles Mehlin, Mrs. Erik Eriksen and Mrs. Charles Appleby, sisters and John Ahrens, a brother, all live in or near Grinnell. Another sister lives in Idaho. The widow will accompany the body to Grinnell.
