SERVICES HELD MONDAY FOR GEORGE PRATT

Funeral services were held Monday, August 17, at 2 p.m. for George Pratt at the Steffy Funeral Home. Burial followed in the I.O.O.F. Masonic cemetery.

Pratt, son of Lucy and Charles Pratt, was born near Malcom November 12, 1873, and died August 14, 1959, at Mount Pleasant. He was 85 years old.

He was a graduate of the Montezuma high school in the class of 1894. He was a retired school teacher, farmer, and businessman. When his health began to fail he sold his home in Montezuma, and went to live in the Groenenboom Nursing home.

He is survived by his sister, Mrs. R. Hannom and her husband, Newton, three nieces, Mrs. Ruth Mayes, Imperial Beach, California, Mrs. Oral Snyder, Norwalk, California, and Mrs. Mabel Downer, Newton, Iowa. Mrs. Downer and the late Mr. Downer devoted much time to looking after Mr. Pratt's needs during his later years. He is also survived by two grandnieces, Mrs. Berry Hulet and Sonda Snyder; one grandnephew, Robert Downer; and two great grandnephews, Herb and Mark Hulet.

Services were conducted by the Rev George S. Snyder. Casket bearers included Robey Watson, Harold Thompson, Frank Jan, Ben Hannon, A.G. Fett, and Howard Thompson.
