ELMER DECAMP

Old Time Grinnell Resident Buried February 14th, in Hazelwood.

Elmer Decamp, who met a death so tragic on Feb. 11, was born Nov. 30, 1845, in Scott county, Iowa. Here Elmer grew to manhood and married. In 1878 they moved to Grinnell and bought the C.D. Shaw farm northeast of town. The family has lived in or near Grinnell since.

The burial took place February 14, from the undertaking parlor of Snyder Bros., conducted by Rev. J.M. Brown. Burial was in Hazelwood.

Mr. Decamp leaves four children, George of Oklahoma, Mrs. Ida B. Mantel of New York City, Charles of Kansas City, and Will of Grinnell. He was a hardworking, industrious man who lived an honorable life and leaves four fine children.

We wish to thank the neighbors and friends who were so kind to us in the unfortunate accident resulting in the death of our father and brother, and for the flowers for the casket and for all the expressions of good will.
