HOWARD COOK

Howard Cook, 74, of Montezuma, formerly of Grinnell, died at his home Tuesday, July 21.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the Watts Funeral Home, with the Rev. Brian Carter officiating. Burial will be in Jackson Township Cemetery, Montezuma.

The son of Bruce and Mabel Miner Cook, he was born April 11, 1918, near Tilton. He was married to Mary Smith Feb. 8, 1941, in Montezuma. They lived in Grinnell until 1953 when they moved to Montezuma.

Mr. Cook worked for the Poweshiek County Road Maintenance Department for over 35 years, retiring in 1981. He was a member of the United Methodist Church.

Surviving are his wife; one daughter, Sandra Hall of Des Moines; three sons, Larry of Rock Creek, James of Ankeny and the Rev. Robert Cook of Des Moines; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Lawrence of Cedar Rapids and Marvin of Montezuma.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Paul and William.

Memorials may be made to the Montezuma United Methodist Church.
