DIES TUESDAY EVE, FUNERAL FRIDAY FOR WILLIAM COOK

William Cook, Kellogg, died at a local hospital Tuesday evening where he had been a patient for the past few days.

Funeral services will be held Friday at 2:00 p.m. from the James Funeral Home with the Rev. C.E. Kingsley officiating. Music will be furnished by Mrs. Dolph Miller accompanied by Mrs. Roscoe Dempster.

Pallbearers will be Reuel Elliott, Lloyd Hurdle, Earl Gilbreath, Milo Lemke, Charles Cunningham and Jack Coomer. Interment will be at Hazelwood cemetery.

The son of John S. and Sarah Crawford Cook, he was born on Feb. 11th, 1888 at New Hampton. He moved with his parents at the age of 10 to Grinnell where he grew to manhood. While living in the Grinnell area he farmed and was employed by Swift and Co.

He was married on March 18, 1949 to Elna Smith of Kirksville, Mo. Since their marriage they have made their home in Kellogg where he was employed.

He is survived by his wife, one brother, George Cook of Gilman; two sisters, Mrs. Fred (Susie) Crowther of Marshalltown, and Mrs. Pat (Leila) Fleming of Grinnell; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death were his parents and one sister.
