MRS. SAMUEL DUNLAP

Died, in this city, at her home in east Grinnell, Wednesday, March 9th, Mrs. Rachel Woomer Dunlap, at the age of 77 years, 9 months, 7 days. She was born June 2d, 1820, at Franklin, Huntington county, Pa.; was united in marriage with Samuel Dunlap, at Franklin, June 2, 1836. To this union eleven children were born, nine of whom survive her--four sons and five daughters, their homes being scattered from Pennsylvania to Oregon.

In 1869 Mrs. Dunlap moved with her husband to Iowa, residing on a farm about five miles east of this city until 1890, when they moved to Grinnell, where they have since resided.

Together after marriage she with her husband joined the Methodist Episcopal church and has since lived a devoted christian life for the past sixty years.

For the past ten years she has been a great sufferer but has always manifested great patience and cheerfulness through all, at times being utterly helpless, yet always patient until death released her.

The funeral services were conducted by Rev. J.E. Corley, of the M.E. church, at their home Wednesday afternoon, at two o'clock, when the body was laid to rest in Hazelwood cemetery.

Those present from abroad in attendance at the funeral were: Dr. A.W. Dunlap, Des Moines, Iowa; Mr. William Dunlap and family, Montezuma, Ia.
