MRS. A.C. DICKERSON IS DEAD

Funeral Services for Beloved Grinnell Woman Are Held From Home This Afternoon

Mary Viola Woomer, daughter of Harvey and Loretta Woomer, was born January 8, 1873, five miles east of Grinnell, and died at her home in Grinnell Saturday, May 4, 1935, being 62 years, three months and 26 days.

Practically the whole life of Mrs. Dickerson was spent in and around Grinnell.

She was married January 9, 1895 to Albert C. Dickerson, and to this union was born one son, Carroll.

She united with the Baptist church when young in years, being only 14 years of age. She was a member of the Pythian Sisters, and took a very active part in that organization, holding the highest office, "Most Excellent Chief." She was also a charter member of the G.N.W. club.

She leaves to mourn her passing her husband, Albert C. Dickerson, one son, Carroll, and one grandson, James Dickerson; also three brothers, James Woomer of LeMars, Harvey Woomer of Des Moines, and Bert Woomer of Grinnell. One brother, William Adam, preceded her in death. There are also three sisters, Mrs. William Parker of Grinnell, Mrs. L.W. Middledorf of Beloit, Wis., and Mrs. O.P. Coones of Des Moines; two sister-in-law, Mrs. Frank Cousins of Billings, Mont., and Mrs. Fred Barnes of Carrington, N. Dak., and an innumerable group of other relatives and friends who will miss her cheerful smile and helping hand.

She was indeed a true wife, a loving mother and a real friend to all.

Services were held this afternoon at two o'clock from the home. Rev. William Welsh had charge of the service. The music consisted of two vocal numbers by a college student, "Jesus Saviour Pilot Me" and "Going Down the Valley One by One." Pallbearers were William Nelson, Frank Knight, William Peters, John Mehlin, Lawrence Wilson and Clint Butler. Interment was in Hazelwood cemetery.
