IVA M. PHIPPS SERVICES HELD

Iva M. Phipps, a former resident of Grinnell, died July 11 at Mercy Hospital, San Diego, Calif., at the age of 76.

Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, July 15 at Pacific Beach Mortuary with burial at Cypress View Mausoleum.

The daughter of Milton and Harriett Macy, she was born Jan. 31, 1900, near Fairfield.

Survivors include the husband, Harry, five sons, Gilbert of Runnells, Carroll of Phoenix, Ariz., Lyle of Grinnell, Leon of San Diego, and Keith of Denver, Colo; a daughter, Mildred Dickerson of Huntington Beach, Calif.; two sisters, Lorella Rempp of Montezuma and Beulah Carter of Louisville, Ky.; a brother, the Rev. Charles Macy of Buffalo, Mo.; 16 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, an infant son and a granddaughter.
