MRS. C.H. CRATTY DEEPLLY MOURNED

Highly Esteemed Woman Passed Away Early on Easter Morning.

Sylvia May Woomer, daughter of W.H. and Catherine Woomer, was born Aug. 18, 1872, on a farm east of Grinnell. She lived there with her parents until 1889 when she came to Grinnell and took up dressmaking. She continued in this business in Grinnell until the fall of 1895. On October 16, 1895, she was united in marriage with Charles H. Cratty. To this union seven children were born, Wesley, Willis, who died at the age of seven years, Harlan, Julia and Mary. The other children died in early infancy.

Mrs. Cratty has spent most of her life around Grinnell and has made a host of kind friends by the sunshine and happiness that continually radiated from her. She has been very patient and cheerful thorough all her suffering for the past three years, never complaining but always praising her family for their kindness in caring for her.

On Easter morning at five o'clock her Saviour called her home from a life of usefulness and care for her family and friends. Community wide sympathy is expressed for the sorrowing husband and children. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at the Methodist church in charge of the Rev. George Blagg. Interment was made in Hazelwood.
