OBITUARY.

JOHN CARSON

Mr. John Carson died at his home in Pasadena, Calif., September 25th, 1912.

Mr. Carson was born at Bath, New Hampshire, October 19, 1829, and had he lived less than a month longer would have been eighty-three years old. He came to Grinnell in 1856. In 1864 he enlisted for service in the Rebellion, coming home on sick leave just before the close of the war.

November 14, 1865, he was married to Almeda Watrous, who survives him.

There were born to them three children, Mrs. Lulu C. Jones and Roy and Leo Carson, all of whom live in Pasadena and were with him when he passed away.

In 1899 it was found advisable for him to seek a warmer climate and they moved to Pasadena.

While he had not been able to do heavy work for some years he was not confined to his bed until three weeks ago. He suffered no severe pain but gradually grew weaker and passed out of this life as one going to sleep. He was the last one of the boys of the family but leaves three sisters--one in Oregon and two in Iowa.
