WEDNESDAY RITES HELD HERE FOR MARY BUCHENAU

Mrs. Mary Buchenau, 75, of 1532 Summer Street, died suddenly at her home Sunday evening.

Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon from the Smith Funeral Home with the Rev. Roy A. Coop, pastor of the Grinnell Christian Church, officiating. Organ music was provided by Mrs. Coop.

Pallbearers were Gerald Sampson, Jerry Benson, Raymond Larsen, Raymond King, Raymond Mitchell and Donald Brown. Assisting with flowers were Mrs. Donald Brown and Mrs. Ray Wylie. Burial was in the family lot at Hazelwood cemetery.

Born September 18, 1890, in Sioux Center, Iowa, she was the daughter of Chris C. Enerson and *Winner R. Mitchell, one of a family of three children. She attended the schools near Rock Valley and later moved to the Grinnell area where she attended the Grinnell Academy.

On Decmber 16, 1914, she was united in marriage with Lewis R. Buchenau. To this union were born two sons and one daughter, Stewart Lewis Buchenau, now of Prairie City; Lavern Andrew Buchenau, who was lost in military action on February 12, 1945; and Flora Marie Buchenau, now of Denver, Colo.

Also surviving is a grandson, Steven Allen Buchenau of Prairie City.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lewis, on May 2, 1950; and two brothers, Andrew and Stewart Enerson.

Mrs. Buchenau had moved from the family farm south of Grinnell to her home on Summer Street after her husband's death.

She was an active member of the Grinnell Christian Church.
