FUNERAL IS WELL ATTENDED

Services for George C. Edgington Were Held Wednesday from M.E. Church.

WAS HIGHLY ESTEEMED BY ALL WHO KNEW HIM

Mr. Edgington Was Born In Poweshiek County in 1874, Lived Here All His Life.

Funeral services for George C. Edgington were held in the Methodist Church Wednesday afternoon conducted by the pastor, Rev. George Blagg. There was a very large attendance of neighbors and friends who held the deceased in high esteem. The hymns, "In the Garden" and "Does Jesus Care" were sung by Mrs. A.S. Johnson and Mrs. John Carter, with Mrs. Leland Carter at the piano.

Mr. Edgington was a man of quiet and unassuming habits, a lover of his home and family. A man of excellent worth, he was held in great respect by his friends. Converted as a young man and uniting with the Methodist Church, he maintained a steady faith and devotion to his Savior and Lord. Burial was made in Hazelwood.

George Clinton Edgington, youngest son of Daniel and Kissiah Edgington, was born in Poweshiek County, Iowa, Jan.10, 1874 and resided on the home farm with his mother until the time of his marriage to Miss Dora Read, which took place on Feb. 1st, 1900. With his bride he moved to the farm in Washington Township which has been his home since. Four children came to bless the home of Mr. and Mrs. Edgington, all of whom with the mother, mourn his going. The children are: Arlene, who teaches at Killduff, Iowa; Loren, Mildred and Harold at home.

He also leaves four brothers and two sisters, all of whom were present at the funeral. They are A.A. Edgington of Marshalltown; Thomas of Greely, Colorado; A.J. of Brooklyn; D.R. of Sheffield, Ia.; Mrs. Della McConnell and Mrs. Eva Reams, both of Brooklyn. The two sisters and one brother were present with him at the time of his death.
