DELLA COBURN RITES SUNDAY

Della Coburn, 76, widow of Roy Coburn, died Thursday afternoon, March 11, at the Brookhaven nursing home, following an extended illness.

The daughter of John and Elizabeth *Dostall Schneekloth, she was born on Sept. 15, 1894, on a farm near Malcom. She received her education in the rural schools of that community.

On Feb. 27, 1918, she was married to Roy Coburn at Des Moines; following their marriage, the couple farmed in the Malcom and Montezuma communities, later moving to their farm near Gilman. After the death of her husband in 1950, Mrs. Coburn moved to Grinnell and made her home at 911 High St.

Mrs. Coburn was a member of the Malcom Presbyterian church.

She is survived by her brother, William Schneekloth of Tipton; her sister-in-laws, Mrs. Lester Schneekloth of Malcom and Mrs. Walter Schneekloth of Marengo; and her nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two brothers, Lester and Walter Schneekloth; and a sister, Mrs. Eva Covault.

Funeral services for Mrs. Coburn were held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Malcom Presbyterian church, with the Rev. James Davidson officiating. Burial was in the Ivy Hill Cemetery.

Organist was Jo Ann Schneekloth, and vocalist was Marilyn Stahl. Serving on the flower committee were Mrs. Orville Murphy and Mrs. Janet Wiley. Pallbearers included Jack Wiley, Orville Murphy, Tom Gill, Glen Depew, John Schultz and Oval Black.

The James-Schalinske Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
