JEFF NELSON SERVICES HELD

Memorial services for Jeff Nelson, 15, who died Sunday of an accidental gunshot wound were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Trinity Lutheran Church in rural Malcom.

The Rev. Elmer Elzey, pastor of the church, officiated, with the Nevenhoven Funeral Home of Brooklyn in charge of arrangements. The body was donated to the University of Iowa for medical research.

Jeffrey Charles Nelson was born April 1, 1957, in Grinnell, the son of Fred and Darlene Dappen Nelson. He lived all his life in the Brooklyn area and was a sophomore at B.G.M. High School. He was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church of Malcom and the Future Farmers of America.

Survivors include his parents; one brother, Mike, at home; two sisters, Paula Nelson of Iowa City and Mrs. Fredricka de Bies of New York City; and his paternal grandmother, Mrs. Lydia Nelson of Brooklyn.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather and maternal grandparents.
