CLAUDE B. KEENEY RITES HERE MONDAY

A heart attack proved fatal for Claude B. Keeney, 73, last Friday at St. Francis hospital in Grinnell where he had been admitted three days previously.

Funeral services were held Monday at 10:30 a.m. at Bramer Funeral Home in charge of the Rev. C.W. Woollard, pastor of Grace Methodist church. Mrs. Ed Bartachek was organist.

Burial was in I.O.O.F. cemetery with Lester Lane, Amos Reida, Harold Hiner, Glenn Mowrey, Emil Prusha and Harold Michael serving as pallbearers. Flower attendants were Mrs. Bruce Miller and Mrs. Harold Michael.

Claude Berry Keeney, son of Richard B. and Anna L. Keeney, was born June 1, 1891, in Girard, Kan. He came to the Hartwick community in 1913 from Belton, Mo. Several years later he came to Brooklyn where he was a Poweshiek county road maintenance employee. For the past few years he had lived in Grinnell.

He was married to Mary E. Morrison in Montezuma Dec. 25, 1924. He was a member of the Brooklyn Methodist church.

Survivors include a sister, Mrs. Eva Combs of Grinnell; three step-children, Mrs. Howard Patten and Mrs. Robert Belland of Brooklyn and Cecil Morrison of Cedar Rapids; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, his parents and several brothers.
