ROBERT MCMEEKIN

Robert J. McMeekin, 84,of 1805 Tenth Ave. Place, Grinnell, died Friday, Nov. 14, at his home.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Smith Funeral Home, with the Rev. Michael Smith, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church, officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Township Cemetery, Ewart.

An Odd Fellows service was scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

He was born July 6, 1913, near Montezuma to James and Lydia Playle McMeekin. He was raised on the family farm near Montezuma and attended rural schools.

He was married to Clara Gauley Dec. 4, 1937, in Marshalltown. The couple lived in Grinnell where he worked for Grinnell Implement Co. in the service and parts departments for over 32 years. He also worked at DeKalb Seed Corn Co.

Mr. McMeekin was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and the I.O.O.F. Lodge.

Surviving are his wife; one daughter, Louise Beem of Vena, Minn.; two grandsons; one great-grandson; and one sister, Mary Sheeler of Grinnell.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Edith Lemke.
