TIMOTHY OWENS

Timothy O. (Tim) Owens, 32, of 1315 Broad St., Grinnell, died of a heart attack Wednesday, Oct. 10, at Grinnell General Hospital.

The Funeral Mass was celebrated Saturday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Newton, with the Rev. E. William Kaska officiating. Burial was in Sacred Heart Cemetery.

The son of Raymond H. and Evelyn Crabb Owens, he was born Nov. 7, 1957, in Des Moines. He was a 1976 graduate of Ellsworth College and completed the ABC electrical apprenticeship program in 1983.

He was married to Nancy S. Craig Sept. 29, 1979, in Newton.

Mr. Owens worked for Meisner Electric, Inc., of Newton until 1987, then was named associate director of mechanical and structural systems at Grinnell College.

He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Grinnell. He had played men's slow-pitch softball in both Newton and Grinnell.

Surviving are his wife; two sons, Jacob and Jared; three daughters, Alicia, Sarah and Abigail; his parents; one brother, Kyle of Norwalk; two sisters, Diana Rader of Newton and Beth Johnston of Hannibal, Mo.; and his grandfather, DeMoss Crabb of Indianola.

Memorials may be made in his name and sent in care of the Wallace-Pence Funeral Home of Newton.
