ELMER GAULEY

Elmer E. Gauley, 77, of 803 Eighth Ave., Grinnell, died Wednesday, Oct. 10, at Colonial Manor in Baxter.

Funeral services were conducted Saturday at the Calvary Baptist Church in Grinnell, with the Rev. Bruce Feuerbach officiating. Organist was Nancy Sears, and vocalist was Mary Feuerbach. Pallbearers were Dennis Gauley, Robert Gauley Jr., Kenneth King, Raymond King, Cecil Martin and Arlo Taylor.

Burial was in the Jackson Township Cemetery at Montezuma, with the Smith Funeral Home in charge of arangements. Memorials in Mr. Gauley's name may be made to the Calvary Baptist Church.

The son of James and Harriet Armstrong Gauley, he was born Feb. 13, 1913, near Montezuma. He attended Deep River No. 4 School. Following his education he assisted his father with farming. In 1944 the family moved to Grinnell where he cared for his parents and worked as a handyman.

He is survived by four sisters, Clara McMeekin, Mildred King and Margaret Reid, all of Grinnell, and Eunice Martin of Indianapolis, Ind., and two brothers, Robert and Melvin, both of Grinnell. He was preceded in death by his parents.
