ESTHER AUMAN

Esther M. Auman, 88, of Cedar Falls, formerly of Grinnell, died Tuesday, Nov. 7, at Cedar Falls Lutheran Home.

Funeral services were conducted Friday at the United Church of Christ in Cedar Falls, with the Revs. Mike Thiel and David Stewart officiating. Organist was Frederika Tarr, and cellist was Lathon Jernigan.

Burial was in Hazelwood Cemetery, Grinnell.

The daughter of William R. and Maude Kennell Mullins, she was born Feb. 20, 1901, in Grinnell. She received her bachelor's degree from Grinnell College in 1924. She was married to Rhee H. Auman Jan. 19, 1947, in Grinnell.

Until her retirement in 1965, Mrs. Auman owned and operated Mullins Gift Shop in Grinnell. She was past president of the Soroptimist Club and was a member of both the P.E.O. Sisterhood and the United Church of Christ.

Surviving is a sister, Evelyn Mullins of Cedar Falls. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1968.
