MRS. WALLIS' RITES TUESDAY

Marjory M. Wallis, 61, of 118 Cherry St. in Colfax, died Friday evening at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines.

Funeral services for Marjory Wallis will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 13, at the Smith Funeral Home in Grinnell, with the Rev. John McKinstry of Colfax and the Rev. Robert Jones of Filmore, Ind., officiating. Burial will be in Chester Cemetery, north of Grinnell.

Born July 21, 1920, near Manchester, Iowa, she was the daughter of Chester A. and Barbara Ann Fuller Humphrey. She moved with her family to Newburg in 1928 and attended school there, graduating from Newburg High School with the class of 1939.

She married Raymond L. Wallis on May 20, 1939, in Lancaster, Mo. Following their marriage, the couple made their home in the Newburg area. She was employed by the Tinnes Lumber Co. for ten years.

In the spring of 1961, the family moved to Colfax. She worked for the Gilbert Hardware Store, the Snowden Grocery Store and the Cogley and Birchmeier Feed Store there. She was a member of the Colfax Christian Church.

She is survived by her husband, Raymond, of Colfax; three children, Barbara Lee (Mrs. Charles) Bates of Des Moines and Michael Ray and Chester Eugene, both of Colfax; her father, Chester, of rural Kellogg; two sisters, Maxine (Mrs. Waldo) Paul of Grinnell and Dorothy (Mrs. William) Wiseman of Gilman; and one brother, Donald R. of rural Kellogg.

She was preceded in death by her mother and infant twin daughters.
