ANNA L. RODGERS SERVICES TUESDAY

Mrs. Anna Louise Rodgers, 77, passed away Saturday at Grinnell General Hospital East shortly after admission.

She had been making her home with her sister, Mrs. Josephine Swindal of 818 High St. for the past seven years.

She was the daughter of Charles and Emeretta Kirkwood Giles and was born near Afton on Jan. 5, 1891. Her parents had farmed in the Afton, Malcom, Alden, and West Des Moines communities.

She attended the Simpson Academy at Indianola and graduated with the class of 1919? She then married Thomas J. Rodgers, and the couple farmed west of Des Moines for a number of years.

Following her husband's death, Mrs. Rodgers' health began to fail and she came to Grinnell to be near her sister.

Mrs. Rodgers was a member of the Maple Grove Methodist church.

She is survived by her sister, Mrs. Josephine Swindal of Grinnell; four nephews, Charles Giles, Walter Giles, Bill Giles and Chauncey Giles, all of West Des Moines. She was preceded in death by her husband Thomas and a brother, Chauncey K. Giles.

Funeral services for Mrs. Rodgers will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday at the McLaren Funeral Home in West Des Moines. Burial will be in Resthaven cemetery there.
