SERVICES FOR MRS. FRED SCRUBY HELD MONDAY AT FUNERAL HOME

Funeral services for Mrs. Fred Scruby were conducted by the Rev. Martin Gruneich at the Steffy Funeral Home Monday afternoon, April 7. Music at the services was provided by Mrs. Keith Stahl and Miss Alice Underwood.

Interment was in Ivy Hill Cemetery at Malcom.

Serving as casket bearers were Marion Palmer, Edwin Bryan, Russell Wiley, Lyle Wiley, Truman Titcomb and Ray Titcomb.

The daughter of Henry and Ida Wiley, Emmer Elizabeth was born April 27, 1894, at Malcom. She passed away April 5, 1969, at Grinnell General Hospital.

She grew to womanhood in the Malcom vicinity. On June 5, 1918, she was united in marriage with Fred W. Scruby in Brooklyn. To this union two children were born - Russell Fredrick, who died at birth - and Lorna Lorraine (Mrs. Frank Bryan).

Mr. and Mrs. Scruby lived on farms in Poweshiek County except for four years spent in Texas.

About ten years ago Mr. Scruby's health failed and they retired and moved to Montezuma to be near their daughter and family.

Mr. Scruby passed away two months ago.

Mrs. Scruby is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Bryan; and her granddaughter, Sharon Bryan, and Sharon's fiance, George Wilkening.
