LAST RITES SAID FOR MRS. TITCOMB

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. today (Thursday) for Mrs. Edna Rachel Titcomb, 64, widow of Clyde Titcomb, who died suddenly Monday afternoon at her home southeast of Grinnell.

The Rev. Chester Custer, pastor of the Grinnell Methodist Church, officiated. Mrs. Willard Heffner was organist and Mrs. Wayne Dayton was vocalist.

Pallbearers were Lyle O. Wiley, Russell Wiley, Garland Wiley, Lyle Wiley, Clarence Irwin and Wayne Wiley. Flower bearers were Mrs. Doris Gilbreath and Mrs. Mabel Woods.

Burial was in Ivy Hill Cemetery. Smith Funeral Home had charge of the arrangements.

The daughter of Henry and Ida Strong Wiley, Mrs. Titcomb was born May 31, 1903 near Malcom. She received her education in the local country schools and later attended Malcom high school.

On Sept. 10, 1925, at Oskaloosa, she was married to Clyde Titcomb. Mrs. Titcomb had lived in the Barnes City, Marshalltown and the Sheridan Township communities where her husband was active in farming. Mr. Titcomb died May 3, 1953 and during the past 15 years, Mrs. Titcomb made her hone with her sister, Blanche Wiley, in Grinnell.

Survivors include one daughter--Mrs. Robert (Jean) Scudder of Toledo; three sons--Truman Titcomb of Toledo, Allen Titcomb of Long Island, N.Y., and Ray Titcomb of Tama; three sisters--Blanche Wiley of Grinnell, Mrs. Fred (Elizabeth) Scruby of Montezuma and Mrs. Rex (Wilma) Neville of Malcom; two brothers--Delmar Wiley of Belle Plaine and Raymond Wiley of Grinnell; one sister-in-law, Mrs. Hazel Wiley of Torrance, Calif.; and 17 grandchildren.

Mrs. Titcomb was preceded in death by her husband Clyde; two brothers--Matthew and John Wiley and one sister--Ida Helen Wiley who died at five weeks of age.
