ELMER WEAVER FUNERAL RITES HELD SUNDAY

Funeral services were held Sunday at 2 p.m. at the Newburg Congregational church for Elmer Samuel Weaver, 55, who died Friday, Oct. 19, at his home at Newburg.

The Rev. Carl E. Kingsley and Mrs. Helen Turner officiated. Burial was at Prairie View cemetery at Gilman. Smith Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Elmer Weaver was born July 23, 1901, near Sully in Jasper county. He was married in 1922 to Meta Blanche Pickering at Marshalltown. He had lived in Newburg for 22 years. He was a road maintenance operator.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred W. Weaver and Anna McClain Weaver. He is survived by his wife, three daughters, and two sons, Lavern, Gaylord, Betty, and Judy of Newburg and Barbara (Mrs. Jack Harrison) of DeKalb, Ill.

Pallbearers were Donald Kirby, Max Stanley, Derold Weaver, Doyle Weaver, Elmer Weaver and Fred Weaver, Jr. Organist was Mrs. Donald Renaud. Flower attendants were Mrs. Doyle Weaver and Mrs. Virgil Adams.
