HARRY E. HORVAT

Harry E. Horvat, 81, of Cedar Rapids, died Tuesday, July 10, 2001 at Living Center East after a long illness.

Services were held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, July 12, at Kenwood Park Presbyterian Church, Cedar Rapids. The Rev. Howard Chapman officiated. Private family inurnment was at the Brooklyn Cemetery in Brooklyn.

Harry was born on May 22, 1902 in Des Moines, the son of Paul and Hattie Schultz Horvat. He married Gertrude Bolen Billick on April 8, 1961 in Cedar Rapids.

He was a laborer for the O.F. Paulson Construction Co. for 37 years, retiring in 1981. He attended Kenwood Park Presbyterian Church and was a member of the Laborers Union, Local 43.

Survivors include his wife, Gertrude; two daughters, Ann McIntosh of Cedar Rapids, Kay Carlson and husband Verlin of St. Peter, Minn.; two sons, William Billick and wife, Rose of Fish Lake Valley, Nev. and Gary Billick and wife Mary of Cedar Rapids; 13 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister.

Memorial donations may be given to Kenwood Park Presbyterian Church.
