FORMER GRINNELLIAN, ELMER DAWKINS, DIES

Elmer E. Dawkins, a former Grinnell resident who lived in Ogden, Ia., died Nov. 27, 1969, at Boone County hospital.

The son of Mr. and Mrs. D.E. Dawkins, Mr. Dawkins was born in Udall, Kan., Oct. 11, 1887. He graduated from the local schools.

He was physical director of the YMCA in Marshalltown before taking up farming. He was retired at the time of his death.

Survivors include his wife, Eva; one daughter; three sons; and one sister, Mrs. Leland Carter of Newton.

Mr. Dawkins was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Homer.
