MRS. COOPER RITES TODAY

Polly Ann Cooper, 93, of 1302 Main St., Grinnell, died Sunday at Grinnell General Hospital.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. today at the Assembly of God Church, with the Rev. Sam Reaves officiating. He will be assisted by the Rev. Hugh A. Shiveley, pastor of the First Baptist Church. Organist will be Mrs. Sam Reaves. Pallbearers will be Francis Barkley, Willilam L. Belcher, Randal Johnston, Robert Kline, Gordon Roorda, and Louis A. Smith.

Burial will be at Hazelwood Cemetery, with the Smith Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

The daughter of Sandusky and Jemima Fairchild Burnett, she was born March 11, 1883, at Mt. Pisgah, Ky. She was married to Joseph Cooper, at Chanute, Tenn., on May 12, 1899. The couple had six children.

Mr. and Mrs. Cooper lived in Mt. Pisgah, Cameron, Mo., and Kellogg before moving to Grinnell in 1913. Mr. Cooper was a farmer and a blacksmith. Mrs. Cooper was a member of the Grinnell Assembly of God Church.

She is survived by her children, Guy Cooper of Grinnell, Mrs. Dorothy Herwehe of Knoxville, Mrs. Flonnie Bell of Grinnell, and Mrs. Paul (Marie) Middleton of Clearwater, Fla.; 24 grandchildren; 58 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Cullen and William Burnett, both of Kingston, Mo.; and two sisters, Mrs. Sally Sloan of Gower, Mo., and Mrs. Rosa Gardner of Kingston.

She was preceded in death by her husband, two sons, Wendell and Gather; her parents; four brothers, General, Charles, John and Hayes Burnett; and two sisters, Mrs. Mary Meredith and Mrs. Alice McDaniel.
