MRS. HALLIE BURD, 88, FORMER GRINNELLIAN, DIES IN CALIFORNIA

Word has reached Grinnell of the death on Tuesday, Nov. 16, of Mrs. Hallie Cox Burd, 88, of Monrovia, Calif., a former Grinnellian.

The deceased was a sister of the late Mrs. Jack Preston and the late Dolph Cox, and she was assistant cashier at the old Merchants National Bank here for a number of years.

Mrs. Burd was born in Lynnville. She is survived by one son, Branson Burd of Azusa, Calif., and a niece, Mrs. Mary Cox Mason of University City, Mo., and formerly of Grinnell.
