RITES TUESDAY FOR MRS. DELMAR CARTER

Mrs. Delmar Carter, 59, died late Saturday night at a Grinnell hospital where she had been taken earlier in the day. Death was attributed to a heart attack.

Funeral services were conducted Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the First United Presbyterian church here, in charge of the Rev. George Roquet, pastor. Organist was Mrs. Ed Bartachek.

Burial was in the Brooklyn I.O.O.F. cemetery. Pallbearers were Rolland Doty, John Van Ersvelde, Henry Van Ersvelde, Ed Bartachek, William Kuntz and August Lacaeyse. Flower attendants were Mr. and Mrs. Frank Van Tomme, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Belland, Mrs. Loren Douglas and Mrs. Ernest Mitchell.

The daughter of James and Maude Ackley, Olive Elizabeth Ackley was born at Hartwick Jan. 22, 1909. She lived all her life in the Brooklyn community. July 19, 1928, she was married to Delmar (W.D.) Carter. The couple had three children.

Survivors, besides her husband, are one daughter Mrs. John (Norma) Taghon of Newton, and two sons, Richard of Brooklyn, and Robert, at home; and three grandchildren.

Other survivors include a sister, Mrs. Jesse Bunnell, of Brooklyn; and four brothers, Wendell Ackley of Tiffin, Earl Ackley of Peoria, Ill., Lyle Ackley of Des Moines, and Gerald Ackley of Newton.
