LUANN BACON

Graveside services for a former Brooklyn resident, LuAnn Bacon, 43, of Orlando, Fla., were held on Monday morning, April 21, at the Brooklyn Memorial Cemetery. She died Tuesday, April 15, 1997, in Winter Park Memorial Hospital, Orlando, Fla., following a short illness. The Rev. Torger Johnson, pastor of United Methodist New Convenant Parish, Victor, officiated.

LuAnn Roberts Bacon, daughter of Marvin Vernard Roberts and Thelma Nadine Carter Roberts, was born Jan. 14, 1954, at Grinnell. She received her education in Brooklyn graduating from BGM High School in 1973. She married Gary Bacon in 1971 at the Methodist church in Brooklyn, and they were later divorced.

In 1986 LuAnn moved to Florida and the past five years has resided at her present home. She worked as a machinist at a plastics plant.

She was preceded in death by her mother.

Surviving are two sons, Brian Eugene Bacon and Craig Thomas Bromwich, both of Orlando; one daughter, Karla Sue Silvius of Orlando; a granddaughter; her father, Marvin Roberts of Orlando; two sisters, Becky Ryan Morgan of Houston, Texas, and Betty Roberts of Orlando; her grandmother, Elsie Carter Riggs of Des Moines; her grandfather, Carl Edwin Carter of Brooklyn; and Tom Bromwich of Orlando, a special friend.

A memorial fund has been established and may be left with the Nevenhoven Funeral Home.
