BROOKLYN SERVICES HELD SATURDAY FOR JAMES ACKLEY, 91

James P. Ackley, 91, Brooklyn died March 19th at an Iowa City hospital. He had been in ill health for several years.

Services were held Saturday at the Brooklyn Presbyterian church with the Rev. G.H. Hulsebus officiating. Pallbearers were Rondal Arnaman, Lewis Hasley, Howard Hasley, John Taghon, Richard Carter, and Allen Ackley. Burial was in IOOF cemetery at Brooklyn.

Mr. Ackley had farmed in the Brooklyn area until his retirement about 15 years ago.

He is survived by his six children: Earl of East Peoria Ill., Mrs. Jesse (Louise) Bunnell of Brooklyn, Mrs. Delmar (Olive) Carter of Brooklyn, Wendell of Tiffin, Lyle of Des Moines, and Gerald of Marion. Also surviving are 10 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, one brother, and one sister.
