ROBERT WILFONG

Robert G. Wilfong, 69, of 729 Pearl St., Grinnell, died of complications of diabetes Thursday, Sept. 14, at Friendship Manor.

A graveside service was held Monday at Hazelwood Cemetery, with the Rev. Del Dawes, pastor of the Grinnell United Methodist Church, officiating. Casket bearers were his friends from the Station Club House.

He was born Sept. 9, 1931, in Grinnell to Stanley and Mabel Curtis Wilfong. He was raised in Grinnell and lived in Montezuma and Williamsburg before returning to Grinnell a few years ago. He had resided at the Station Club House, where he assisted with meal preparation.

Mr. Wilfong was a member of the Grinnell United Methodist Church and was a greeter at the church.

There are no immedite survivors. He was preceded in death by his parents and his stepfather, Claude Pickering.
