AMOS A. KILMER

Funeral services for Amos Kilmer, 74, of Deep River, were held at 10 a.m., Monday, Oct. 22, in the Nevenhoven Funeral Home in Brooklyn. Mr. Kilmer died in an auto accident near Hugo, Colo., Friday, Oct. 19, 1979.

Rev. Glenn Fruth, Pastor of the Church of the Brethren, officiated. The organist was Mrs. Ed Bartachek. In care of flowers were Mr. and Mrs. Gene Osborn and Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Stevens. Casketbearers were Craig Kilmer, Donnie Stewart, Gary Merical, Charles Baird, Harry Kilmer, Jr., and Dana Kilmer. Burial was in Harmony Cemetery near Brooklyn.

Amos Almond Kilmer, son of Harry J. and Birdie Bunnell Kilmer, was born in Poweshiek Coutny on March 17, 1905. He was united in marriage to Margaret Stevens on February 28, 1925 in Davenport. He lived all of his life in Poweshiek County except for three years in Waterloo. Mr. Kilmer is survived by his wife, Margaret; two sons, Harry of Brooklyn and Fred of Morrison, Colo.; one sister Mrs. Carroll (Avis) Billman of Grinnell; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, one brother and one grandson.
